We’re celebrating this collective milestone, and promoting the community foundation movement, with this CF Centenary logo which is displayed by community foundations across the country.

Here’s how the Cleveland Foundation in the US, the first Community Foundation in the world, tells the story of its inception in 1914. “Banker and lawyer Frederick Goff had a vision to pool the charitable resources of Cleveland’s philanthropists, living and dead, into a single, great and permanent endowment for the betterment of the city.” Read more …”

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation – which has been so generous supporting the development of the Community Foundations movement around the world, including in Australia – has a special section on the Centenary in their latest Annual Report, which you can download section by section.
