Georgie McKay has experience in business and industry and has previously held positions in the fields of marketing, administration and finance. Georgie holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing Major) and is from the Lucindale area, in the SE of SA.
She is an active member of her local community and is involved with many community committees and sub-committees, including Lucindale Area School Governing Council (current Chairman & also on several school sub-committees), Naracoorte & Districts Little Athletics Association and Robe Surf Life Saving. Georgie has been a committee member of the Lucindale PA&H Society (where she held the position of Treasurer).
She enjoys working with children and coached junior tennis for a number of years and was instrumental in the implementation of the Junior Tennis Hotshots program for the Lucindale Community. She was also actively involved in the Lucindale Auskick program for many years.
Georgie is a current member of the Mayor’s Community Consultation Working Group for the District Council of Robe and is a financial member of Impact100 SA.
She is a passionate community member who believes that we must “put in” in order to “get back”.
Georgie has been employed in the position of Executive Officer of the Stand Like Stone Foundation since October 2012. In this role she aims to further develop positive relationships and strong networks across the region and raise awareness of Stand Like Stone in all areas of the Limestone Coast. She has strong skills in marketing and communications and is regularly involved in public engagement and the lobbying of local council and State Government on various issues for the region.
Georgie is the 2016 Recipient of the Australian Community Philanthropy Award for Excellence & Achievement.
