Kate Buxton, Executive Officer

Born in the UK, Kate graduated from the London School of Economics in 1987. Before migrating to Australia she worked at a senior level in the British media industry as general manager at independent production company Clark Production/Margaret Street Studios, head of production at Space City Communications and as Executive Officer of Women and Film and Television (UK).

Kate brings a strong commitment to the not-for-profit sector to her role. She is a former General Manager at Lifeline Gippsland and has worked closely with the Boards of several non-profit and membership based organisations. She has extensive experience in the development of government and philanthropically funded projects for a wide range of community and mental health organisations. She is a past Chair and a current Director of the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation.

Kate joined Australian Community Philanthropy as their first Executive Officer in 2015. She believes that community foundations are uniquely placed to bring people and organisations together to build social capital, catalyse development and strengthen community. Kate is committed to building the capacity of community foundations and ensuring they have a strong voice in the philanthropic sector.
